Welcome to the Official Rugby CV of powerhouse Fijian Rob Buaserau. Buaserau is a fast, powerful athlete that excels in both Rugby Union and Rugby League. The utility back can play in several positions but is most comfortable at centre or on the wing.
In 2014, Rob came over to Australia from Fiji when he signed for Maitland in Newcastle. He also travelled the Australian Sevens circuit playing for Ozboks 7s, Brumbies 7s and South Australian 7s teams.
Rob then moved from Newcastle to Canberra when he signed for Wests Rugby in 2015 and went on to become the leading try scorer in the 2015 John Dent Cup picking up the 2015 McDougall Medal, the John Hunter Memorial Trophy for Highest Try Scorer at the end of the season.
After a stellar year Rob caught the attention of the ACT Brumbies and picked up a short term contract with the Super Rugby giants.
In 2016 Buaserau moved to Wollongong for family reasons and played the season with Dapto, leading the rugby league side to win the Illawarra Rugby League season. Rob played 13 matches and finished the competition as leading try scorer with 16 tries, while also picking up Dapto’s Best and Fairest Award.
As of September 2016, Rob continues to play for Sydney’s Western rams in the NRC and has started the season in top form, proving that he is destined for higher honours.
